How to Switch Angles of Photos

How to Switch Angles of Photos thumbnail
Changing the angle of the shot can make objects in the photo appear larger or smaller.

Photographers often see photos in their minds before actually taking the picture. By changing the angle of the shot, you can capture a completely different view of the same object. Taking photographs from different heights can capture the light to best illuminate the object you are photographing. Lighting and shading are regular factors in photography and can mean the difference between a good and great photograph. Taking pictures of the same object from different angles can also make the object appear to be different sizes.

Instructions

    • 1

Take a photograph of an object from a standing position. This is the most common and natural angle from which to take a picture.

    • 2

Stand on a chair or stool and take a photograph from above the same object. This angle will change the background of the object.

    • 3

Kneel down and take a photograph of the same object. Keep the camera level to capture a view from a shorter height.

    • 4

Lay down on the ground and take a picture of the object. Tilt your camera upward to capture a view from underneath the object to make the object appear tall and elongated.
