How to Trace Registered LIC Policies

The Life Insurance Corporation of India is India's largest state owned life insurance company. It was formed in 1956 by the merger of more than 200 companies and is owned and controlled by the Indian government. To track registered LIC policies, go to the nearest LIC branch or track the policy online at LIC's official website.

Open the website licindia.com. You need a valid username and password to track your LIC policy. If you're a new user, click on the "New User" link and you'll be directed to a new registration page. Enter your policy number, installment premium, date of birth, email address and create a user name and password. After successful registration, log in to the site using the created user name and password.

Click on the enroll policies link present on the left side of the page. This will display all the enrolled policies at the center of the page. If you don't have enrolled policies, click on the link "To Enroll Click here" at the bottom of the same page. Choose the number of policies to be enrolled. Enter the policy number, premium and other required information for all policies and click the "Enroll your policies" link. The website will create a PDF document listing all of your enrolled policies. Print out the PDF document.

Send the printout listing your enrolled policies to the branch where at least one of your policies is being serviced. The branch will validate the policies, allowing you to track them in the future from the LIC site. Validation isn't required for all operations. You can scan policy details, pay premiums online and view an automatically generated premium calendar with validating policies.
