How to Build a Beer Can Airplane Propeller

The aluminum can: it's not just for refreshments anymore.

If you love models,but lack money, a beer can airplane (canplane) is the ideal project. Despite its name, this project can be done with any kind of aluminum beverage can. Canplanes make great decorations or homemade gifts.

Things You'll Need

• Empty beverage can
• Pliers

Instructions

1. Cut the can down opposite sides, using pliers, being sure to leave the bottom intact. bend the two flaps down.

2. Make cuts lengthwise across the flaps,each cut one inch apart. Bend each piece slightly up or down, to make them easier to work with in the next step.

3. Curve each piece, carefully.The slight upward twist you create should leave enough room between each piece for you to easily see through.

Tips & Warnings

• The slices of aluminum will be very sharp, take care not to cut yourself.
