How to Use the Drupal Forum

The Drupal core has an integrated forum module, although the feature isn't enabled by default when Drupal is installed. The forum connects with Drupal's user account system, which means that website users are not required to create a separate account to post in the forum. Site administrators automatically have forum moderator privileges, allowing them to edit and delete threads.

Click on "Dashboard" to open the Drupal admin panel. Click "Modules."

    • 2

Scroll down to the Forum module (the list is displayed in alphabetical order). Check the box next to the forum and click "Save" to enable this Drupal forum.

    • 3

Click on "Configure" next to the forum module. Here you will see the default "General Discussion" forum section. Click on "Edit Forum" to make changes to it.

Change the forum name and description, if desired. Click "Save" when you are finished.

    • 7

Type "/forum" immediately after your website URL in any browser to visit the Drupal forum. Click on "Add New Forum Topic" to create a discussion thread.
