How to Make Fashion Togas
Togas are worn when attending toga parties -- a common activity in colleges across America. Nevertheless, women wear toga dresses as fashion dresses for any occasion. They do not cost a lot to make and are comfortable to wear. All you need is the appropriate materials and you're ready to get started.

1
Pick a fabric and order 4 to 5 yards. The fabric can be anything from the traditional cream to a vibrant pattern of your choice. If you are creating your fashion toga for a toga party, select a cheaper material, as you will probably wear it only once. However, if you are creating a toga to wear more frequently, pick a more expensive fabric that will last.
-
2
Lay the fabric flat out on a table and cut so that the material is at least three times your height and 6 ft. wide. So, for example, if you are 6 ft. tall your material should be 18 ft. in length and 6 ft. wide.

3
Lay the material flat out again on a table then fold in half to locate the exact middle of the center fold. Mark with chalk then unfold the material back out flat again. Using this mark as a guide, draw a semicircle on the material with chalk, running right across the length of the fabric.

4
Cut out the semicircle shape from the fabric. If you are using the dress as a day-to-day dress, hem the edges using a needle and thread. If you are planning on wearing the toga for a one-off party, there is no need to be so neat.
-
5
Drape the material over one of your shoulders and allow the fabric to fall naturally in a downward direction. Take the excess material, wrap it round your back and under the opposite arm. Cross the material so that the end is on the shoulder you first draped the material over. Your toga should feel fairly tight and secure on your body.
-
6
Secure the material on your shoulder with a pin or a broach. Either is suitable.
-
7
Accessorize your toga as much or as little as you wish. Add a belt round your waist or some gladiator shoes. In addition, add gold bracelets, a chunky necklace and big earrings. Accessories will give your outfit a finished look and make a real fashion statement.
