Try this fun and sometimes silly game where players hit a ball over a net with books.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Have at least two participants.
Step2
Give each player a hardcover book.
Step3
Set up a badminton or volleyball net outside. If playing inside, run a string or some yarn between two chairs or in a doorway.
Step4
Create out-of-bounds lines using sticks, string or landmarks. Make a small court for younger children and a large court for older children.
Step5
Use a tennis ball if you're outside, or a Nerf or soft foam ball if you're inside.
Step6
Send the ball back and forth over the net using only the book to hit it.
Step7
Take turns serving.
Step8
Keep the ball in play without letting it hit the ground.
Step9
Play just for fun or keep score. (Score 1 point every time the ball touches the ground on the other side. The first team to reach 10 points wins.)

Tips & Warnings

  • If you play inside, be sure there are no breakables nearby.
