How to Get Your Music From LimeWire When Making a CD in Roxio thumbnail
Burning a CD with Roxio software is simple if you know where to find your files.

LimeWire is useful for downloading and sharing music files, and it even has the ability to play all of your music files right inside of the program. There may be times when you would like to take your music files with you on a CD, however. It is not always clear how to get your files out of LimeWire and into a program like Roxio for burning to a disc, as the program doesn't clearly reveal the saved locations of your files.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the LimeWire program by clicking its icon followed by "Tools." Choose "Options" and then "Saving."

    • 2

Look at the folder location in the "Audio" section of the window. This is where LimeWire is saving your downloaded files.

    • 3

Open Windows Explorer by clicking the "Start" button and then clicking "Computer." Navigate to the location of your saved LimeWire files. The default location is the "LimeWire" folder inside your "Documents" folder.

    • 4

Open the Roxio software by clicking its icon on the desktop or by accessing it via the "Programs" section of the "Start" menu. Click the "Music/Audio" link in the left-hand column, and then click "Burn Audio CDs." You will be presented with a window that says "Drag Music Here."

    • 5

Return to the Windows Explorer window by clicking the "Finder" icon. Click and drag the music files from the Windows Explorer window into the Roxio window. Repeat for each file you would like to add.

    • 6

Insert a blank disc into your disc drive, and ensure that the correct drive is selected near the bottom of the Roxio window.

    • 7

Click the green arrow icon at the lower right of the window to begin burning your disc. When the process is complete, click "OK" and remove your disc.

Tips & Warnings

  • Click "Options" at the top right of the Roxio window to open the "Options" window, where you can change settings like burning speed and normalization before burning your disc.
