How to Use a Kenmore Concealed Zipper Foot
Kenmore, a brand sold exclusively at Sears and K-Mart, marketed their first sewing machine in 1982 and has been a leader in the sewing machine industry ever since. Kenmore presser feet are universal and can be used on any Kenmore model sewing machine, whether horizontal or vertical. The hidden presser foot is used to sew any zipper and hide it in the project, including invisible and separating zippers. The smaller design of the foot allows it to sew closer to the teeth and inside of the concealing fabric as opposed to a regular zipper foot which stitches further from the teeth of the zipper.

1
Remove the current presser foot by turning the hand wheel counter clockwise to raise the needle to the highest position. Press the red button on the back of the needle assembly to release the presser foot.
-
2
Install the concealed zipper foot by placing the pin on it just under the groove on the needle assembly. For sewing the left side of the zipper first, attach with the right hand side of the pin. Lower the presser bar and the foot will snap into place and be ready for use.

3
Sew the left side of the zipper, back-stitching at the ends for security. While sewing, guide the fabric and zipper through the machine. Do not push as this could cause the needle to break or bunching of the thread on the underside of the project.
-
4
Remove the presser foot and reinstall it with the left hand side of the pin. Sew the right side of the zipper.
-
5
Fold the concealing fabric over top of the zipper and sew a small stitch across the bottom end of the zipper to hold the fabric in place.
