Players take turns describing something using words in alphabetical order.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Children's Dictionaries
  1. Step 1

    Take turns being "It."

  2. Step 2

Name an object when you're It. This can be any type of object, but objects the players are familiar with usually work best.

  3. Step 3

Go through the group, one player at a time, and have players name a word that describes the object. The first player must use a word that begins with "a," the next a word that begins with "b" and so on through the alphabet.

  4. Step 4

Start over with a new object once you've gone through the alphabet.

  5. Step 5

Look at this example: The object is a bracelet. Players might say things like "ankle bracelet," "blue bracelet" and "cute bracelet."

  6. Step 6

Try to come up with funny and creative descriptive words.

Tips & Warnings
  • Help younger children play by saying to them when it's their turn, "Can you think of a word that begins with 's' or the 'sssss' sound?" Older players will laugh at the nonsensical descriptions the little ones come up with.
