How to Make a Hay Bale Spider's Face
A hay bale spider adds a spooky touch to your lawn when Halloween rolls around. If you have hay bales on your property, finding ways to incorporate them into your decorations can be challenging and exciting, especially if you get your whole family involved. Things You'll Need
- Black 6-inch drain hose (80 feet long)
- Measuring tape
- Saw
- Power drill
- Zip ties
- Wire cutters
- Spray paint

Measure and cut your drain hose into eight 10-foot sections using a measuring tape and saw. Measurements do not have to be exact but each hose should be roughly the same length.

Drill three holes into one end of each piece of drain hose with a power drill. Spread them out along the circumference of the hose. Holes need to be big enough for your zip ties.

Place the first hose on the side of the hay bale near the top. Run a zip tie through the holes you drilled and wrap the ties around the wire that surrounds your hay bale. Repeat this for all three holes and then trim the zip ties with a wire cutter.

Place four drainage hoses on one side of the hay bale and four on the opposite side. These are your spider's legs.

Spray paint eyes and a face on the side of your hay bale to represent the spider's face. You can use red to make scary eyes or white to make a more friendly looking spider.
