How to Disable a Pulse Field
The pulse field is a barrier to your progress in "Operation Anchorage," a DLC add-on pack for Bethesda Softwork's award-winning "Fallout 3" game. Operation Anchorage places your character in a virtual reality simulation set during a fictionalized World War III. You are tasked with leading the attack to reclaim Anchorage, Alaska from the communist Chinese forces. The pulse field appears blocking your way about three-quarters of the way through the DLC mission.

Play through the content normally until you reach the only fork in the path in the entire DLC quest. Take the path to the east.

Continue pushing through the path. You will be assaulted by several enemy soldiers, so make sure you have sufficient ammunition and health to deal with them all. Use your V.A.T.S. aiming system to your advantage whenever possible.

Move west until you reach the point where several American soldiers in power armor come to assist you in your fight. Kill all the enemy soldiers, then head forward into the cabin nearby and go all the way to the east. You will finally encounter the pulse shield.

Enter the building near the pulse shield. Inside you will find an intel briefcase and the shut-off switch for the pulse shield.

Activate the switch to lower the pulse shield.
