Epic Systems is a healthcare software company. The Epic software is used in medical facilities to replace paper charts and create electronic medical records. Organizations that are beginning to use Epic software will send certain employees to Epic training to become certified in the use of the software. Epic-certified analysts will also be responsible for training the rest of the organization and addressing any Epic-related problems that may arise. Epic certification is obtained through training at the Epic facility or online.

Contact your Human Resources department or your supervisor at the medical facility where you work. Most organizations will pay for one or two employees to be trained and certified as an Epic analyst. If your facility is transitioning to Epic software, volunteer to be a trainer or to help implement the new system.

Keep your training current. Epic releases new updates to its software often and also offers new training on the software updates yearly. By completing annual training, you will be able to keep your certification current.
