Adobe provides built-in commenting tools to highlight, underline, cross out and comment on text in a PDF file. The commenting feature must be enabled by the creator of the PDF file to permit this type of editing. Highlighting is often used to draw attention to important content. Remove highlighting from text in a PDF document when you are done with commenting and want to present a clean, professional document.
Double-click the icon of the PDF file you want to remove highlighting from. The file launches in Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat, based on your default application settings.
Right-click the highlighted text.
