How to Make Tri-Fold Tinfoil Hats
While the verdict is still out on whether (or how well) tinfoil hats work at deflecting alien or governmental mind-control waves, it's always better to be safe than sorry. But why look like a paranoid conspiracy nut while doing so? Rather than just crumpling the foil onto your skull and shaking with fear in your basement, try folding it into a stylish sailor hat and wearing it with pride. Such a hat can be made with just three basic folds --- no advanced origami skills required. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Rip a piece of foil, slightly longer than it is wide, off the spool. Fold it in half.
-
2
Fold the two corners along the folded side down diagonally, until they meet near the open edge. The foil should be in a roughly triangular shape at this point, with a short rectangular section along the bottom.
-
-
3
Fold up the rectangular part of the edge on both sides, forming the brim. Pull the bottom open to wear the hat.
