How to Find a Chocobo in "FF7"
In "Final Fantasy 7," chocobos are birds that you can catch, breed and ride. They allow you to travel over shallow water and help you find hidden treasure in forests. During the game, you can catch a chocobo by encountering them during battle. There are a number of different colored chocobos to catch on Final Fantasy 7, each providing unique abilities such as running up mountains and running much faster than regular yellow chocobos.

Click on "Menu" and select one of your characters. Select one of the materia slots on your weapon.

Scroll through your list of materia and select "Chocobo Lure." If you do not have this materia, purchase it from any store that sells materia.

Run around an area of the map that has chocobo footprints on the ground until a battle sequence initiates. In the battle, you will face a chocobo and two other monsters.

Select the items of one of your characters and choose any Greens you may have. Feed a green to the chocobo to stop it from running away. Repeat this process every time it is that character's turn to act.

Attack the two monsters with the chocobo using the other two characters. Once you have defeated the monsters, the chocobo will be yours.
