How to Fix a Snap Fastener on Pants
A damaged snap on a pair of pants can be an intimidating problem. A snap is put onto the fabric by first creating a hole in the fabric with a punch then joining the two sides of the snap together with the punch. The same is done with the other side of the snap and the two sides of the snap are joined to hold your pants together. Because of this custom hole and the fact that snaps are primarily metal, a snap is not easily replaced and the best option is to try to repair it. The most common problem is the snap becoming warped in the dryer or bent while wearing it. Does this Spark an idea?

Use the needle nose pliers to bend the snap edges back into shape. Bend them out enough that the male part of the snap will be able to fit into it. It does not have to fit snugly at this time. If it is difficult to bend the metal, reheat the water and submerge the snap for another minute.
