Be prepared for patriotic American holidays, such as Independence Day, Veteran's Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day by making a Flash animation file of an American flag. This is done through the use of keyframes in Flash, which can even make the flag wave. Just select the keyframes and positioning for the flag and get ready to show your loyalty to your country.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Flash. Click the "Flash Document" link under "Create New" on the splash screen. The Flash stage, timeline and work area will appear.

    • 2

Click the "File" menu. Click "Import" then "Import to Stage." Browse to the picture of the flag and double-click it. The picture appears on the stage and the first keyframe shows a solid circle.

    • 3

Right click a keyframe further down the timeline, such 90. Select "Insert Keyframe." Another solid circle appears in the 90 keyframe spot and a gray shading appears on the timeline.

    • 4

Right click the keyframe in the middle of the timeline, such as 45 if you chose 90.

    • 5

Select "Insert Keyframe" and another solid circle appears in that keyframe and it is highlighted in black.

    • 6

Drag the flag elsewhere on the stage. Click the white hollow rectangle to the left of the keyframe in 45. Click the "Property" tab at the bottom of the stage. Pull down the "Tween" menu and click "Motion." The flag moves position on the stage and a blue shading with an arrow appears in the first half of the timeline.

    • 7

Click the white hollow rectangle to the left of the keyframe in 90. Repeat the "Tween" process. The flag moves again and another blue shading and arrow are added.

    • 8

Pull down the "Control" menu and select "Loop Playback." This will have the flag waving repeatedly instead of just once. Skip this step if you only want it to wave once.

    • 9

Click the "Control" menu and select "Play" to watch the flag waving.

    • 10

Click the "File" menu. Click "Save As." Type a name for the Flash file and click the "Save" button.
