Photography is an art that allows you to capture great memories you can keep for long periods of time. Many people place their photographs in frames to display the image. However, having a photograph in large ornate or colorful frame can detract from the piece. Instead, a floating picture frame allows the image to be completely displayed. When hung on walls, these clear picture frames give a "floating" impression to the display objects because they do not have a traditional frame surrounding the glass. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • Custom-cut glass
  • Ruler
  • Swiss clips
  • Plate stand
  • Screwdriver
  • Industrial-strength adhesive

Instructions

    • 1

      Measure the dimensions of the photograph desired with a ruler.

      Obtain two pieces of pre-cut glass that is 2 inches wider and larger than the size of the photograph

      Position one piece of glass on a flat surface.

      Place the photograph on the glass in the desired position. Cover the photograph with the second piece of glass.

      Secure the two pieces of glasses with Swiss clips. Place two Swiss clips on each side of the glass one inch from each corner to have a total of eight clips.

    • 6

      Hang the frame on the wall with nails by inserting the nails through the openings in the top Swiss clips or display the frame on a plate stand.
