How to Make a Crayon Out of Crayon Shavings
Shaving your crayons when their points dull allows you to draw fine lines with them, but leaves you with a pile of crayon shavings, which can feel like a waste. Recycle those crayon shavings, and even little bits of broken crayon, into new crayons. You can use your new crayons to shade large areas, or give them as a gift to a young child just learning to color. These homemade crayons are large and easy for little hands to grip.

Tips & Warnings
Put only one color of shavings and bits into each cup for solid-colored crayons, or make marble crayons for an interesting coloring effect by putting two or more colors in each cup.
Use cupcake tins in different shapes such as hearts to make your crayons in. You can skip the liners; just make sure you thoroughly clean the tin before baking food in it afterward.
