Decoupage paper flowers matching your bridal bouquet to the box.

Decoupage is a craft method of permanently adhering paper or photos to decorative items, such as boxes. Preserve a copy of your wedding invitation onto a wooden box as a safe-haven for nuptial memorabilia including your preserved bridal bouquet and boutonniere, guest book, ceremony program and a inedible wedding favor.

Instructions

    • 1

Mix 3 tbsp. of white glue and 1 tbsp. of water in a paper cup using a sponge paintbrush. Position the wedding invitation onto the box, trying different arrangements until you reach the desired look.

    • 2

Brush the back of the wedding invitation and the area on the box where the invitation is positioned with the glue mixture using the sponge paintbrush. Apply the invitation onto the box and eliminate air bubbles and wrinkles by pressing from the center toward the edges.

    • 3

Rub the edge of a wooden craft stick across the invitation to ensure that the invitation is smoothly pasted on the box. Brush the glue mixture over the entire face of the box with the glue mixture.

    • 4

Wait until the glue is dry, apply a second coat and allow that coat to dry. Repeat the glue covering until you can no longer feel the edges of the invitation when running your finger over it. Allow the glue to dry completely between coats.

    • 5

Spray the decoupaged box with acrylic spray to protect the art from damage and allow it to dry completely before using the box for wedding memory storage.
