A necktie is an accessory generally worn by men with a dress shirt. Some men prefer not to wear a necktie because of the challenge of tying the necktie. You may think of wearing a clip-on necktie and although an easy alternative, the clip-on tie is unprofessional. When tying or learning to tie a necktie, there are various knot options. Some options for necktie knots include the Windsor, Pratt, four-in-hand and triple knot.
Position the necktie around your neck with the larger side of the necktie slightly longer than the smaller side.
Wrap the larger side around the smaller side of the tie three times going up. Start the first wrap midway up the smaller side and wrap the tie two more times above the first wrap.
Put the larger part of the tie through the loop at the top. Insert the end of the tie through the tie wraps. Put your finger through the three wraps from the bottom and catch the end of the tie and pull it through.
Push the knot up and tighten it around your neck. Adjust the wraps so the three knots are visible.
