How to Disable Text Messages on Cellphones
While text messaging is a useful and effective means of communication, it can be very expensive for those who choose not to have unlimited text message plans with their cellphone providers. In addition, text messages can also be disruptive while at school or work. Text messaging services disabled on your cellphone is an easy means to prevent expensive monthly phone bills and troublesome disturbances from occurring. To disable text messaging, you will need to contact your cellphone provider.

Locate the customer service phone number for your wireless provider on your monthly billing statement.

Open your phone's keypad and dial the customer service phone number and push the "Send" key.
If you subscribe to one of the national providers --e Verizon, AT&T, Sprint or T-Mobile -- you can simply dial 611 from your wireless handset and press "Send" to contact customer service.

Enter your identifying information, such as the last four digits of your Social Security number or your personal password, when prompted.

Select the appropriate option to speak with a customer service representative or agent.

Inform the customer service representative that you want to disable text messaging on your cellphone account. He will then disable the service for you so that you will no longer be able to send or receive text messages.
