Nearly everyone has a favorite T-shirt that is soft and comfortable. When the time comes for a wardrobe update, new shirts tend to be stiff-feeling and sometimes itchy. Fortunately there is a way to effortlessly make new shirts softer in little time.

Fill the pot with water until there is enough to soak the shirt and stir it around.

Set the pot on the stove and set the burner to medium/high. Wait until small bubbles form in the pot and then turn the heat down to low.

Add the salt to the hot water and stir it gently.

Wet the shirt in a sink with warm water and then add it to the pot. Stir the shirt in the pot for up to 30 minutes.

Pour the water and shirt into the sink very carefully. Turn off the stove. Once the shirt is dry, it should be noticeably softer.
