Instructions

    • 1

Dig a small depression in the ground with the shovel. Place medium sized stones around the perimeter of the hole. This will be the fire pit.

    • 2

Find tree branches that are forked at one end and as straight as possible. Measure the length of the branches with the tape measure and cut the branches to 3 feet with the hand saw.

    • 3

Dig a hole to a depth of 6 inches on each side of the fire pit. Place the tree branches in the holes with the forked end pointing up. Fill the hole with the dirt to keep the branches in place.

    • 4

Attach one end of wire tie to the wood pole. Wrap the wire around the pole and then twist it many times to keep it secure. Attach the other end of the wire to the handle of the cooking pot.

    • 5

Place newspaper and small pieces of wood in the fire pit. Start a fire with matches or use a lighter. Add additional wood to the fire until the embers are glowing hot.

    • 6

Lay the wood pole with the cooking pot hanging by the wire tie on the forks. Place the food to cook in the pot and then cover it with the lid.
