How to Prune Bicolor Sage
Bicolor sage (Salvia sinaloensis) shares the aromatic attributes of the rest of the sage family with attractive multi-colored leaves, hence the name. Bicolor sage is a hardy plant that will do well in a variety of environments but is particularly suited to dry, well-drained soil. Watch your bicolor sage plant as the growing season nears an end. When the final flowers on the plant have died down, it's time to prune.

Cut the sage plant to about half of its current size with a set of small garden shears. Clip the plant into a regular ball shape as you remove branches and shoots.

Pick up and dispose of the cuttings in a compost heap or yard waste container.
