How to Boot Netbooks

How to Boot Netbooks thumbnail
Netbooks are typically used for browsing the Internet and using Web applications.

When new types of hardware are released on the market there is always a short time before the public can wrap their heads around it. Netbooks are no exception. Many users still have a hard time grasping the concept of the tiny little computers, and they aren't sure how to work them or what they're for. The truth is, a netbook is just what it looks like, a tiny laptop. It isn't as powerful as a standard laptop, but it works pretty much the same way.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect your netbook's power cable to the back of the computer. Plug the cable into a wall outlet to provide power. If your netbook's battery is charged, you can omit this step.

    • 2

Press the power button to turn on the device. The location of the button will vary depending on the model of your netbook, but it should be clearly marked with the power symbol, which looks like a circle with a line through the top.

    • 3

Wait while your netbook works through the boot procedure. It should show a splash screen depicting the computer's manufacturer and then load the operating system. Once the operating system is loaded, the boot procedure is complete.

Tips & Warnings

  • A netbook's battery should hold a charge hours longer than a typical laptop.
