How to Get Games on YouTube
YouTube is a gamer's paradise. The video-hosting site is home to thousands of in-game clips, level walkthroughs, cheat how-tos, gameplay trailers and fan-made homages. If you want to upload a game video of your own, you need to capture in-game footage, a process that requires a bit of extra software. In-game video capture software comes in many different varieties, and some are free while others require payment. A few games even have built-in video capture software, but it is not a common feature.

1
Install in-game video capture software on your computer. The type of software you use will depend on the game you are running and the operating system you are using. Do a little research to find out which programs work best with your game. If you are using a gaming console, the video capture setup is a bit trickier. Visit forums, wikis and fan sites for your console to learn more about what software would be best for you.

2
Capture your in-game video footage. If you are filming a walkthrough, it may take a few tries before you get it right. If you are filming a specific part of a level, it is often easier to begin the video capture at the start of the level, rather than stopping halfway through to turn on the software. You can always cut out the extra footage later.

Edit the captured video file in the video editor of your choice. You may want to add narration, background music, subtitles or title screens.

4
Upload your video to YouTube. For your video to get a lot of views, tag the video description with the name of the game, as well as terms such as "Walkthrough" or "Cheats."
