How to Get Rid of Facebook I.Q. Ads thumbnail
Get rid of spammy ads on your News Feed.

Ads that appear on your Facebook News Feed letting you know that a friend has taken IQ test can be tempting. While it may seem like harmless fun, the IQ test application that has been circulating around Facebook is actually a sneaky way for an online marketing company to ring up charges through your cellphone company. The app asks for your phone number to send you your results and then registers you for pricey cellphone services and games. Get rid of the ads so you aren't tempted by the challenge.

Instructions

    • 1

Log into your Facebook account and scroll through your News Feed. Locate an IQ test post, usually as the result of one of your Facebook friends falling prey to the scam-like tactics of the app.

    • 2

Hover your mouse pointer over the post until a small "X" appears to the right side of the post. Click the "X."

    • 3

Select "Hide All by IQ Test." This removes all posts on your wall and your News Feed by the IQ application. It also hides all future posts by the same app.

Tips & Warnings

  • Warn your friends and family members about the cost of the IQ test on Facebook. Some users who are not Internet savvy could unwittingly sign up for vanity cellphone subscriptions. Taking the test only perpetuates the ads online.
