How to Cheer Up a Broken-Hearted Friend
If your friend is suffering from a broken heart, you probably want to make it all better. You can't make her pain go away, though, no matter how hard you try. That will happen over time, and you have no control over it. You can, however, show your love and support by bringing a little cheer into her life.

1
Spend time listening to your friend. Let her talk; she may need to get out her feelings. Allow her to fully express herself. Do not interject your personal opinions. Knowing you are there for her will cheer her up immensely.

2
Use words to cheer your friend up. Tell him he is a caring person. Tell him something you admire about him. Don't forget to tell him that you care for him and will always be there when he needs you.

3
Find ways to make your friend laugh. Laughter is probably lacking in your broken-hearted friend's life at the moment. Bring a comedy movie to her house or go out to the movies or to a comedy club. Show up at her house dressed up in funny attire, such as a wig or a clown suit. The point is to show your friend the humor in this life and help her forget her troubles for a while.

4
Have a special dinner for your friend. It doesn't have to be a fancy dinner; you just want your friend to have a few moments of joy. Get him out of the house to a place with people and laughter, or have a dinner party. Invite supportive people who care for your broken-hearted friend as much as you do.

Give your friend something to cheer her up. Make her a deck of "happy cards" by writing inspirational sayings, funny jokes and quotes on a regular deck of cards. Use a permanent marker so the words don't wash off. Alternatively, you can give your friend a funny card or buy her a box of her favorite chocolates to boost her mood.
