How to Play the Priest in "WotLK"
Your priest just hit level 68 in "World of Warcraft." It's time to move on to the "Wrath of the Lich King" content. The majority of the "Wrath of the Lich King" content is located in Northrend, the continent added in the game. Priests play as either healing or DPS (Damage Per Second) roles. Priests wear cloth, making Tailoring a good profession. Frostweave cloth drops in Northrend, so a Tailoring priest can make themselves gear to increase intellect, spirit and spell power, necessary stats for a priest.

1
Travel to Stormwind City (Alliance) or Orgimmar (Horde). Purchase "Cold Weather Flying" from a riding trainer. Take the boat (Alliance) or zeppelin (Horde) to Northrend. Pick up quests in the Borean Tundra or the Howling Fjord.

2
Pick up quests from the various Non-Player Characters (NPC) in the areas. Complete the quests after reading the instructions the NPC gives you. Turn in the quests after completion. You can complete all of the quests in the zone, or move on to Dragonblight after hitting level 70. After questing in Dragonblight (or reaching level 72), go to Grizzly Hills. Continue completing quests through Sholazar Basin, Zul'Drak and the Crystalsong Forest. Once you hit level 76 or 77, travel to Storm Peaks and Icecrown. While completing the quests, use one of your healing spells if the health bar drops to try to avoid dying. A priest typically cannot take on too many enemies at one time, so fight carefully.

Participate in the Wintergrasp PvP (Player vs. Player) battles that take place once every few hours. Join the queue for it through the PvP menu on the bottom action bar. As a priest, you can play as a DPS or healing role. A successful PvP group needs healers, so it might help to play as one. Heal the other player to keep them alive during the fight with the opposing faction.

Join dungeon groups, either through the Dungeon Finder or with players on the server. Healing priests may have an easier time finding groups, but they are a viable DPS class. Priests that primarily heal (Holy) should focus on keeping the members of the party alive with spells. He should focus on the tank, and then the DPS members. He can heal the pets, but those fall secondary to the characters themselves. Research the dungeons online to find out about any quirks that affect play. For example, when fighting the final boss in The Nexus in the Borean Tundra, players need to move around to break one of the spells the dragon casts. If they don't move, the spell stacks, giving out large amounts of damage and requiring a healer to work harder.
