How to Put an Information Box on Facebook

How to Put an Information Box on Facebook thumbnail
Many businesses and individuals share information on Facebook.

Making and editing information boxes in Facebook -- whether on your profile, a fan page or an event page -- is quick and easy. The new Facebook layout can make the information boxes a little more difficult to find. Once you know the technique, you'll be able to edit any information in Facebook that allows changes to be made. Remember that you can always make changes later, and information you put online is usually saved somewhere, so keep your personal information safe.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate to the page you want to edit. To edit a fan page, event or group, you need to be an admin (administrator) of that group. Most pages have a built-in "info" portion of the page.

    • 2

Type "Control+F" (Windows) or "Command+F" (Mac) and type "info" to locate the info box. Hover your mouse to the right of the box title. A small pencil logo will appear; click the pencil logo. If you're having trouble finding it, move the mouse slowly around to the right of the box title.

    • 3

Type in the text box once it appears. Depending on the type of Facebook page you'll be entering different information. For an event, you may want to type a couple of sentences about the goals of the event. For a profile, you may want to elaborate on information not present in the rest of your profile. Remember to keep your personal information safe.

Click "Save Changes" to save the information box and upload the information to Facebook.
