How to Decorate a Wildlife Cake
A wildlife party can be a great theme for a young boy or girl's birthday. To complete the decor, a cake decorated in a wildlife motif is the perfect way to get creative. You can use a rainforest or African safari theme or even top your cake to look like wildlife from your own backyard. - Cake mix or the cake recipe of your choice
- White frosting
- Green food coloring
- Blue food coloring
- Gummy fish
- Plastic trees (non-toxic)
- Plastic animals or bugs (non-toxic)

The birthday boy or girl help can help you bake their cake. Bake a cake using pre-packaged cake mix or the cake recipe of your choice. A chocolate cake works great for simulating dirt, but you can use any cake flavor.

Use green frosting to simulate grass on your wildlife cake. Combine white icing with green food coloring and frost the cake. Make sure that the cake has had time to cool properly.

Create a stream running through your cake by adding blue frosting. Add blue food coloring to the remaining frosting and spread it over a section of the cake to simulate a lake or stream. Add gummy fish to the stream.
