How to Stream Video From the iPhone Over WiFi
Apple's iPhone features an internal wireless receiver that allows you to stream music or videos over a Wi-Fi network, but the device's wireless streaming option is only compatible with the Apple TV. With the Apple TV connected to a wireless router, the iPhone streams to the Apple TV's "AirPlay" function, which is capable of receiving media from any Apple operating system. Once the iPhone connects to the AirPlay function, the Apple TV automatically switches to the streaming media.
