How to Remove a Westell Versalink 327W on Verizon
There are two modem models compatible with Verizon broadband DSL service. There are also three gateway models compatible with Verizon broadband DSL service. The Westell VersaLink 327W is one of the three Verizon-compatible gateways. A gateway is a modem/router combination. If you are using the VersaLink 327W for your Verizon Internet connection, you can disconnect this connection through the device's user interface. If your goal is to install another modem or gateway to use with your Verizon Internet service, you will also need to disconnect the VersaLink 327W from your computer.

Disconnect the Westell VersaLink 327W's Verizon Internet Connection

Launch the Web browser on the computer connected to the Westell VersaLink 327W gateway router. Enter "http://192.168.1.1" in the browser address bar. Press "Enter" to open the VersaLink's user interface.

Enter the user name and password for your router. (The default user name is "admin." The default password is "password"). Click "OK" to log into the interface. If you never created a new user name and password for the router, you will be prompted to do so.

Go to the "Main" tab. In the "My Gateway" section, click the "connected" link next to "Internet Status" to display the "DSL Connection" window.

Click the "disconnect" button. Click "OK" to confirm.
Disconnect the Westell VersaLink 327W from Your Computer

Turn off the router.

Unplug the telephone cable from the "DSL" line jack on the back of the router.

Disconnect all of the Ethernet cables plugged into the router's Ethernet jacks. The Ethernet jacks are the jacks labeled "Uplink / E1," "E2," "E3" and "E4."

Tips & Warnings
If you want to continue using your Verizon DSL service after the VersaLink 327W has been disconnected, you must install another Verizon-compatible modem or gateway. Verizon broadband DSL Internet service is compatible with the Westell ProLine 6100 and 6110 modems, the Actiontec GT704WG gateway, and the Westell VersaLink 327W and 7500 gateways.
