Before LCD and plasma TVs entered the mainstream market, rear-projection TVs were the standard for large screen televisions. Rear-projection TVs reflect the picture onto the back of the screen with a mirror and projector. Dirt, dust and debris can build up on the screen and ruin the picture. Turn off the rear-projection TV.

Wipe the rear-projection TV screen and frame with a lint-free microfiber cloth to remove any loose dirt.

Inspect the TV screen for smudges or fingerprints. If the TV is still dirty, dampen a clean microfiber cloth with a small amount of screen cleaner.
