Gmail's forwarding filters are highly customizable.

Forwarding a large number of emails one at a time can quickly become frustrating. Gmail's filtering and forwarding tools can automate the task for you with just a little bit of set-up. Once a forwarding filter is configured, all emails that meet the forwarding criteria will be automatically forwarded until the filter is disabled. As Gmail will send a confirmation code to the forwarding address, you will need access to that account in order to get the code. If the forwarding address belongs to someone else, you'll need to ask that account holder to give you the code once received.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the Mail Settings menu by clicking on the gear-shaped icon in the top-right corner of your Gmail homepage.

    • 2

Click the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab at the top of the settings panel. Click the "Add a forwarding address" button. Gmail will send a confirmation email to that account.

    • 3

Log in to your other account in a separate browser tab. Copy the confirmation code in the email. Return to your Gmail tab. Paste the confirmation code into the text field to the right of your forwarding address. Click "Verify."

    • 4

Click the "Creating A Filter" link within the "Forwarding" section. This will allow you to specify which messages you would like to be automatically forwarded. You can create filters using criteria such as the sender, subject line or recipient. Once you have entered all of your criteria, click the "Next Step" button. Check the "Forward It" box. Click "Create Filter." The specified messages will be forwarded to your external account.
