How to Convert a QuickTime Movie to an MP3
Each time you download or create a QuickTime movie on your computer, the file is saved as an MOV. An MOV is a multimedia file that contains audio and video tracks. If you want to create an MP3 from an MOV, you can use a video-conversion program. A handful of companies offer free video-conversion software that will extract the audio from your QuickTime movie and save it as an MP3. After converting your file, you can listen to it on your computer or sync it to your MP3 player.

Using RealPlayer

Download and install RealPlayer. Open RealPlayer when the installation is complete.

Click the "RealPlayer" toolbar tab, highlight the "File" option and select "Add Files to Library." Select your QuickTime file and click the "Open" button to import the file into RealPlayer. The file will be added to your video library and will appear on the screen.

Right-click your QuickTime movie and select the "Convert To" option.

Click the "Convert To" drop-down menu in the "RealPlayer Converter" window. The "Select a Device" window opens.

Click the gray drop-down menu at the top of the window and select the "Audio Formats" option.

Select the "MP3" option from the audio formats list, and then click "OK."

Click the "Save In" drop-down menu and select a folder to store your new MP3.

Download and install Next Video Converter. Open the video-conversion program when the installation process is complete.

Click the "Add Movie" button in the upper left corner of the screen and select your QuickTime file. The Select Output Format window appears. Click the "MP3" option.

Download and install Free Video to MP3 Converter. Launch the program when the installation process is complete.

Click the "Add Files" button on the main screen. Select your QuickTime file and click "Open."

Click the "Output Name" button and enter a new name for the converted file. Click "OK."
