GE Profile refrigerators offer features like an Energy Star rating, integrated shelf supports, water and ice filtration, current temperature display, fast cool settings, LED dispenser light, frost guard and automatic defrost. However, if the defrost on the refrigerator stops working, there are a variety of possible causes that range from simple to serious. Troubleshooting efforts can help determine what is causing the defrost problem and potentially offer up a solution.
Things You'll Need
- Vacuum cleaner (with brush attachment)
Turn off and unplug the GE Profile refrigerator.
Remove the access panel, located at the bottom front of the refrigerator. Set the panel aside.
Use a vacuum cleaner, preferably with a brush attachment, to clean the dirt from the condenser coils. They appear as a set of black tubes.
Replace the access panel and restore power to the Profile refrigerator.
