How to Put a YouTube Channel on a Facebook Page

One way in which you can increase interest on your Facebook page is to cross-post your YouTube channel. This means that anyone who visits your Facebook page will be able to look at whatever YouTube videos you've created without having to go to YouTube. Unfortunately, the process is not as simple as copying the YouTube embed code, as Facebook has its own code that you need to know in order to post videos.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to your YouTube account and go to youtube.com/custom_player.

    • 2

Select which colors you want to use for your YouTube video from the menu of colors provided, then select the slim YouTube player layout from the "Layout" options on the left.

    • 3

Select either "My Videos" or "Playlists" from the Content box. This determines what videos will appear on your Facebook YouTube video.

    • 4

Click "Generate Code." YouTube will create a code for your custom player, which you'll need to modify in order to place on Facebook.

    • 5

Delete the value string found beside the <param> tag in your YouTube embed code. In its place, type the value (the absolute URL) for whatever image you're going to use as the YouTube player's cover page. The image you use needs to have the same dimensions as your YouTube player (492 by 391px).

    • 6

Change the "<object>" tag to "<fb:swf>" so that Facebook can play the video. Copy the resulting code.

    • 7

Log in to Facebook and go to your Facebook page by selecting it from the left-hand menu. Click on the tab you would like to use to host the video, or create a new one. Paste the code onto the tab.
