How to Get Rid of Weevils in Corn Plants
The maize weevil is a type of pest beetle that averages in size 1/16 inch but they can be as large as 1/8 inch. The weevil ranges in color from dark red to black and has wings underneath its thick and waxy coating. The weevil lays its eggs in an ear of corn, where the larvae will hatch and ruin the corn. Prevent this from happening by killing the weevils before they are able to lay eggs on the ear of corn. Does this Spark an idea?

Mix weevil-killing pesticide in a pump sprayer. Use a type of pesticide that is compatible with corn plants. Add enough water according to the pesticide manufacturer's instructions. Pump the sprayer several times to mix it thoroughly.

Spray the corn with the pesticide. Spray it so the plant is soaked on all sides. Let the pesticide dry for two hours. If it rains within the two hours re-wet the corn.

Reapply the pesticide after several days, according to the pesticide manufacturer's instructions. Continue applying until the weevils are dead.
