Native American wares and accessories are seeing a lot of success, thanks to the popularity of tribal prints and headdresses. One of the easiest ways to add Indian inspiration to your look is to throw on a headpiece created from leather, feathers and turquoise beads. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 5 54-inch long leather strands
  • Large feathers
  • Clear nylon thread
  • Large beads
  • Needle

Instructions

    • 1

      Knot the leather strands, leaving an inch at the top.

      Braid the leather strands together to form the base of the headpiece. Knot the bottom end. Tie the two knotted ends together to create a headband.

      Weave the feathers through the back side of the braided strands. The feathers should stick straight up and remain flush to the forehead.

      String the clear thread through the needle and knot the end of the thread.

    • 5

      Push the needle and thread through the back of the headband towards the front, and string a bead onto the needle and thread. Push the needle back through the front of the headband and continue stitching the beads onto the headband as desired. Knot the thread end at the back side of the headband.
