Flies in the house are one of the sure harbingers of warmer weather. This often occurs because people are going in an out more often, allowing newly bred ordinary house flies to slip in. However, if you notice larger black flies in or near windows, walls, doors and screens,you may have an infestation of cluster flies. While ordinary house flies might breed in spaces like walls, they leave quickly. Cluster flies, on the other hand, will stay and take up residence. Seal off your walls and kill off existing cluster flies to get rid of them completely. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Silicone home caulk
  • Residual insecticide spray

      Find cracks, holes and other openings on the interior and exterior of the home. Repair these areas and replace any missing insulation.

      Examine window and door frames for spaces and crevices. Apply silicone home caulk around door and window frames so they are completely secure.

      Spray the infected wall with residual insecticide. Aim first for areas where there were or are openings where cluster flies could enter and apply the insecticide over the whole wall. Keep pets and children out of this room for 24 to 48 hours.
