How to Install a Webcam on an Acer

Webcams are available for both desktop and laptop computers.

Acer offers a wide range of computers for a variety of purposes. With both laptop and desktop computers available, Acer offers a system that fulfills just about any of your computer needs. Acer markets a series of laptops with integrated webcams, however, if you currently own an Acer laptop without an integrated webcam or you own an Acer desktop computer, you can still use a webcam without having to make any hardware modifications to your computer.

• Driver CD

Instructions

1. Choose a location for your webcam. Depending on whether you are using a desktop or laptop computer and what type of webcam you purchase, there are a series of options for mounting your webcam. Check the manual included with your webcam for specific instructions on mounting it.

2. Insert the included driver and software CD into your computer's optical drive. The installation program will automatically open. Follow the on-screen instructions to install your webcam's drivers and software applications.

3. Connect your webcam to an available USB port when prompted to do so by the installation software. Once the software and drivers are installed, your computer will automatically recognize your webcam and enable it for first use.
