How to Untag a Photo on Facebook

Facebook includes a feature that allows you and others to identify photos of yourself. This "tag" links the photo to your profile so any of your friends allowed to see your pictures can easily find it. Many Facebook users have tags in hundreds of photos, but not everyone wants a tag in every photo. Untag yourself from these photos if you do not want to be identified with a particular photo.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate to facebook.com and log in to your account.

    • 2

Click your name in the upper left corner of the page to see your profile.

    • 3

Click the "Photos" tab below your profile picture on the left side of the page. Scroll down to see all the photos you are tagged in.

    • 4

Click a photo you want to remove a tag of yourself from. The photo will enlarge in a new window and you will see a list of people tagged in the photo near the bottom of the window. Find your name. Click "remove tag" next to your name to remove the tag and untag yourself. The photo will no longer appear under "Photos of You."
