How to Make a Gaara Suit
Gaara is a character from the manga and anime show Naruto. Gaara is a rival ninja from the Sand Village. Gaara is small for his age and extremely talented. He has the power to control sand to harm and kill opponents. Gaara has a distinctive look. A Gaara costume is not difficult to make, and you can make it at home without much time or effort. The hardest part of the costume is forming the gourd that Gaara wears that contains his magical sand.
Things You'll Need
- 2 balloons (12-inch size)
- Newspaper
- Craft glue
- Khaki acrylic paint
- Black acrylic paint
- Paintbrushes
- Black sweat pants
- Black T-shirt
- Fishnet stockings
- White fabric
- Brown fabric
- Scissors
- Red fabric
- Black shoes
- Red hair dye
- Black eyeliner
- Red face paint

Tape the small side of two balloons together. Tear the newspaper into 2-inch wide strips. Dip the strips into craft glue and layer over the balloons. Apply a total of three layers. Allow the glue to dry for 24 hours. Paint the balloons khaki to make Gaara's gourd. Paint the two black "M" symbols on either side of the gourd.

Cut two 4-inch long sections of stockings from the middle of the fishnet stockings. Cut the white fabric into 2-inch wide strips and a 12-foot strip of 8-inch wide fabric. Cut the brown fabric into a 6-inch wide strip long enough to make a sash around your shoulders. Cut the red fabric into a 4-inch wide and 3-foot long strip.

Pull the stockings onto your upper arms. Put on the sweat pants and T-shirt. Pull up the pants to just below the knee. Wrap your calves in the 2-inch wide strips of white fabric like a mummy. Put on the black shoes.

Tie the red fabric around the middle of the gourd. Tie the gourd to the middle of the brown fabric. Tie the brown fabric around your body from the left shoulder down to the right side of your waist.

Spray your hair red with temporary hair dye. Use the black eyeliner to completely surround your eyes with black. Paint the red Chinese character on the left side of your forehead with red face paint.

Drape the remaining section of white fabric over your right shoulder and down to the left side of your waist. Leave the two ends of the fabric loose and flowing.
