How to Download MP3 Music for an iPod Touch

The iPod touch is compatible with both AAC and MP3 music files.

Apple's iTunes Store allows iPod users to download music that can be played on their iPod device. The music that is downloaded from the iTunes Store, however, is AAC format, not MP3 format. If you want to download MP3 files for your iPod touch device, you can do so in a few steps by using one of the many other online music stores available.

Instructions

Amazon.com MP3 Store

1. Open the computer's Web browser and navigate to the Amazon.com MP3 Store.

2. Type the name of the song that you want to download in the search bar at the top of the Amazon.com MP3 Store Web page.

3. Click the "Go" button to search for the song. Amazon.com will provide a list of search results that matches your search criteria.

4. Click the "Buy MP3" button to the right of the song you want to download.

5. Enter your Amazon.com account email address and password in the spaces provided and click the "Sign in Using Our Secure Sever Button" to sign in to your Amazon.com account.

6. Place a check mark next to the "I agree to the terms of use" option and click the "Continue" button.

7. Enter your billing address in the spaces provided and click the "Continue" button.

8. Enter your payment information in the spaces provided and click the "Continue" button.

9. Confirm your purchase to download the MP3 song from the Amazon.com MP3 Store.

Rhapsody MP3 Store

1. Open the computer's Web browser and navigate to the Rhapsody MP3 Store.

2. Type the name of the song that you want to download in the "Search for MP3s" search bar at the top of the Rhapsody MP3 Store Web page and press the "Enter" key to search for the song.

3. Click the song you want to download in the list of search results. Click the "Add to Cart" button to add the song to your cart.

4. Click the "Go to Cart" button to begin the checkout process. Click the "Checkout Now" button, enter your Rhapsody account email and password in the spaces provided and click the "Continue" button.

5. Enter your billing and payment information in the spaces provided and click the "Continue" button. Confirm your purchase to download the MP3 track to your computer.

Walmart MP3 Music Downloads

1. Open the computer's Web browser and navigate to the Walmart MP3 Music Downloads website.

2. Type the name of the song you want to download in the search bar and click the "Find" button to search for the song.

3. Click the "Buy" button to the right of the song you want to download to add the item to your cart.

4. Click the "Cart" button, followed by the "Checkout" button to begin the checkout process. Type your Walmart MP3 Music Downloads account email and password in the spaces provided, and click the "Sign In" button to sign in to your account.

5. Enter your billing and payment information in the spaces provided and click the "Continue" button. Confirm your purchase to download the song onto the computer's hard drive.
