Hotpoint appliances are made by the General Electric and include washers, dryers, ranges and refrigerators. Many Hotpoint refrigerators have a top freezer with the option to have an automatic ice maker installed. Once installed, some owners may wish to turn off the automatic ice maker to reduce energy costs, during vacation or other prolonged periods of absence, or other times when ice is not needed. Instructions

      Locate the feeler arm along the bottom of the ice maker.

    • 2

      Push the feeler arm up to place it into the "Stop" position.

    • 3

      Push the power switch so that the "O" position is engaged to turn off the ice maker.

    • 4

      Restore power again by pressing the power switch to the "I" position and pushing the feeler arm back down.
