Instructions

    • 1

Add 1 cup of rice bran and 1 quart of water into the stove pot. Place the lid on the pot. Allow the rice to soak in the water for at least 24 hours.

    • 2

Turn on a burner for your stove to medium-high heat. Place the stove pot on the burner until it boils.

    • 3

Reduce the heat to medium-low but still maintain a boil. Remove the stove pot from the burner once all of the water has been removed.

    • 4

Place the colander in the sink and cover it with a screen. Cover the screen with a piece of filter paper.

    • 5

Fill the stove pot with hot tap water and stir the rice bran. Pour the rice bran over the filter paper. Use a new filter screen, if needed.

    • 6

Place the filter screens in a sunny area to allow the water to evaporate. Powdered starch remains after the water has evaporated.
