How to Draw a '69 Yenko Camaro
In 1967, Yenko Chevrolet introduced a modified version of the first-generation Camaro to consumers. While the appearance was similar to factory produced Camaros, the real magic was underneath the hood of the car. If you would like to draw a picture of a Yenko Camaro, select a picture to assist you in finely tuning the details of this image. Your drawing will vary slightly depending on the way the car is angled in the picture.

1
Use light pencil strokes to construct the rectangular body of the Yenko Camaro. Study the picture to get a firm grasp on how the body of this car is built. Draw the rectangular top portion of the automobile so that the front doors are placed near the rear of the car.
-
2
Use the ruler to create the straight lines of the door and windows as they are featured in the Yenko Camaro. When viewed from the side, the doors appear rectangular in shape. As the vehicle is turned, the depiction of this door changes. Use light pencil strokes until you are confident in the basic proportions.

3
Draw the rectangular door handle as it is angled in the picture you are using as a reference guide. Sketch out a small, oval-like object near the front of the window to represent the side view mirror of the Yenko Camaro.
-
4
Sketch out two medium-sized circles, making sure that the middle of these circles overlaps at the bottom of the Camaro's body. Make sure these wheels are angled according to the reference guide; therefore these circles may not be proportional to each other. In this instance, the circles will appear more oval-like in appearance the more that the front end of the vehicle is revealed to the viewer.
-
5
Distinguish the tires of the vehicle by drawing a secondary line inside of the newly-drawn wheels of the Yenko Camaro. You will be darkening these tires with an ink pen, so there is no point in filling in any defining details with the pencil.
-
6
Study the 1969 Yenko Camaro picture you are using as a reference and take notice of how the wheel is designed. Draw a small, circular feature inside each of the wheels to represent the center hub piece. Create each of the the five spokes as they widen from the hub cap out to the rim of the wheel.
-
7
Use your ruler to draw the mostly straight pinstripe featured on the side of the Yenko Camaro. This pinstripe becomes slightly thicker just before the rear wheels, as "Yenko/SC" is chiseled into this portion of the detailing.
-
8
Add the factory badges to the side, front and rear of the car as they are pictured. Obviously not all badges will be visible in the picture, but somewhere in this drawing will be the signature bow-tie logo of Chevrolet.
-
9
Create the circular headlights or square taillights as they are pictured. Clean up any inconsistencies in proportions or details at this time.
-
10
Trace all intended pencil lines with an ink pen to create a clean and bold appearance in your drawing. Do not trace over any of the body guidelines, as these lines just helped you create the basic look of the car. Let the ink dry, then completely erase any remaining pencil marks.
