How to Disable a YouTube Embedded Player

If you use YouTube to host your online videos, the videos stored on your YouTube account can have the embedding disabled. This prevents viewers of your video from posting it on their own websites. This helps keep your videos from being posted on websites with which you do not want to be associated.

Instructions

    • 1

Open YouTube and sign into your account using your username and password.

    • 2

Click your username in the top-right corner of the screen. Click "My Videos."

    • 3

Click the "Edit" button beside the video for which you want to disable embedding.

    • 4

Click "Embedding" under "Broadcasting and Sharing Options."

    • 5

Select "No, External Sites May NOT Embed and Play This Video" and click "Save Changes" to keep the new settings.
